Rules, controls and help for Bubble Shooter

Bubble Shooter gives you a focused activity to play in your browser. Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Original hexagonal matching board and bouncing projectiles.

Practice with a purpose

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Use the example to check your reasoning.

What you need to achieve

Clear the hanging bubbles before they reach the lower boundary. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Notice how the game responds to your input.

Work through the instructions

  1. Aim and fire.
  2. Attach bubbles to the cluster.
  3. Groups of three or more equal colours disappear.
  4. Floating groups drop; five misses lower the ceiling.

How to use the controls

Pointer/touch aim, angle controls and Fire. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Use one clear input at a time.

Learn from a sample situation

Removing one support can drop a larger mixed-colour group below it. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Notice the change in the playing area.

Avoid this misunderstanding

Contact with a different colour is not a match. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
